Today, the Statistical Institute of Belize published its latest statistics on the consumer price index, external trade, and the consumer confidence index for July 2025.
Consumer Price Index
Data from the Statistical Institute of Belize’s monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) survey showed that for the month of July 2025, the All-Items CPI, which measures overall price levels across consumer goods and services regularly purchased by Belizean households, stood at 120.4. This marked an increase from 118.9 recorded in July of 2024, indicating an overall national inflation rate of 1.2 percent for the month.

Merchandise Trade
Belize’s total merchandise imports for the month of July 2025 were valued at $266.3 million. This was an increase of 12.3 percent or $29.1 million from July 2024, when imports were valued at $237.2 million. Merchandise imports for the first seven months of the year, January to July 2025, amounted to $1.653 billion. This represented a 3.7 percent or $63.6 million decrease from $1.716 million recorded during the same period last year.
Total domestic exports for July 2025 amounted to $61.2 million, down by 3.4 percent or $2.1 million when compared to July 2024, when exports were valued at $63.3 million. Merchandise exports for the period January to July 2025 totaled $250.9 million, down 5 percent or $13.2 million from the first seven months of last year, when exports were valued at $264.1 million.

Consumer Confidence Index
For the month of July 2025, the national Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) stood at 45.5, representing a marginal increase of 0.6 percent from 45.2 in June 2025. This signaled a slight shift away from the general downward trend in consumer confidence observed over the past few months.
