MICRO DATA ACCESS POLICY

The Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) aims to allow researchers under strict supervision,access to statistical microdata files. In accordance with Section 42(5) of the SIB Act, the Institute seeks to provide a mechanism whereby researchers can access detailed data files solely for bona fide research or statistical purposes, without jeopardizing respondents’ confidentiality.

CODE OF GOOD PRACTICE

The Code of Practice is a technical and regulatory instrument, structured by principles and best practices in order to contribute to the improvement of statistical activity. Principles are fundamental rules or ideas that govern the thinking and practice in statistical activity, while best statistical practices are replicable actions based on proven experience with the best results, contributing to the improvement of national activity.

RECRUITMENT POLICY

The success of the Statistical Institute of Belize in fulfilling its mandate depends on its ability to recruit and select the best possible candidates to fill staff vacancies in a timely and cost-effective manner. This aligns with the Institute’s strategic aims and helps to ensure the continuous improvement of its most valuable asset, its human capital. The Recruitment and Selection Policy provides a framework and structure for all SIB staff engaged in the recruitment and selection process.

SURVEY SERVICES POLICY

The SIB provides survey services to external clients upon request. The purpose of this policy is to outline the procedures through which clients can submit requests for survey, specify what information should be submitted when making such a request, and provide guidelines for establishing formal agreements for the provision of these survey services to external clients.
