Today, the Statistical Institute of Belize published its latest statistics on the consumer price index, external trade, and the consumer confidence index for October 2025.
Consumer Price Index
For the month of October 2025, the Statistical Institute of Belize’s monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) survey showed that the All-Items CPI, which summarizes price levels across all categories of consumer goods and services that are regularly purchased by Belizean households, stood at 120.7. This was an increase from the 119.7 recorded in October 2024, representing a national inflation rate of 0.9 percent for the month. The year-to-date inflation rate for the first ten months of 2025 stood at 1.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2024. While prices were up across most major CPI categories during this period, the overall rise was mainly driven by higher prices in the categories of ‘Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages’ (1.9 percent), ‘Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels’ (2.4 percent), ‘Restaurants and Accommodation Services’ (2.3 percent), and ‘Personal Care, Social Protection, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services’ (2.8 percent).

Consumer Confidence Index
For October 2025, the national Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) stood at 45.2, down slightly by 1.2 percent from 45.7 in September 2025, indicating a continuation of the generally downward trend seen since the start of this year (see Figure 1). This was due primarily to a reduction in the ‘Present’ sub-index, as the ‘Expectations’ and ‘Durable Goods’ components were both up in comparison to the previous month.
