The Belize Policy Research Institute & the Statistical Institute of Belize Sign Technical Cooperation MOU
BELIZE CITY, BELIZE, September 9, 2025 – The Belize Policy Research Institute (BELPRI) at the University of Belize (UB) and the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on information exchange and promoting the use of data-driven research to inform policy making in Belize.
The agreement allows for cooperation on utilizing existing data, filling data gaps, joint research proposals and publications, as well as on training in areas such as data management, survey design, and policy analysis. Staff of the SIB and BELPRI and faculty and students of UB are expected to contribute and benefit.
The MOU was signed by Ms. Diana Castillo, Director General of the SIB, Dr. Dylan Vernon, Executive Director of BELPRI and Dr. Vincent Palacio, President of the University of Belize.
