Population & Household

Population statistics reveal much about the nature of society, the changes taking place within it and the issues arising for government and policy-making. Population change affects virtually every social, political and economic problem that faces the world. In order to adequately address these issues, we must have at least some basic understanding of the characteristics of the population, how the population has changed and is changing, and the causes and consequences of population change.
