The Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB), in partnership with Statistics Canada (StatCan), is currently hosting a workshop on Census Data Analysis and Dissemination from March 31st to April 6th, 2022. The workshop is attended by representatives of several partner agencies from the National Statistical System (NSS) and SIB staff.
Among the various innovations implemented for the 2022 Population and Housing Census is an improved approach to Census analysis and reporting. The SIB will be producing several thematic reports from the 2022 Census data in collaboration with key stakeholders who have subject-matter expertise in specific areas such as health, education, and poverty, among others. Therefore, the workshop’s objective is to provide these partners with guidelines for analyzing and disseminating Census data. The workshop will also establish a framework for accessing Census data while maintaining the confidentiality of information.
This workshop is part of the SIB’s larger ongoing initiative to strengthen the country’s NSS to provide quality and accessible data for planning and informed decision-making by government and non-government agencies, businesses, researchers, and other data users. It is being facilitated by experts from StatCan, through the Government of Canada’s Project for the Regional Advancement of Statistics in the Caribbean.
