The Statistical Institute of Belize advises its clients and the general public that there will be no September Labour Force Survey for the year 2018. This change to the Institute’s regularly scheduled work program is necessary to allow the timely completion of the 2018-2019 Household Budget Survey (HBS). The HBS, a survey designed to collect information on household spending patterns, is being carried out in four rounds over the course of a year. This lengthy and complex survey requires the SIB to dedicate substantial human and financial resources, making it necessary to forego the September 2018 Labour Force Survey in order to ensure the successful completion of the HBS. The Labour Force Survey will resume its regularly scheduled rounds in April 2019. The SIB apologizes to its data users for any inconvenience caused.
