For July 2022, the All-Items Consumer Price Index (CPI), which summarizes price levels for all consumer goods and services categories, stood at 111.5, up from a CPI of 103.9 recorded for July 2021. This indicates that the country experienced an overall national inflation rate of 7.3 percent on the cost of goods and services regularly purchased by Belizean households. This considerable overall increase in consumer prices was driven by rising prices across almost all CPI categories, most notably ‘Mineral Fuels and Lubricants’ and ‘Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages’.
