Population and Housing Census 2020 Slogan Competition Rules

1. The competition

• Competition participants will submit original slogans to represent the 2020 Population and Housing Census. The winning entry will become the official slogan for the 2020 Census.
• A slogan is a short, catchy phrase, string of words, or motto
• The competition opens on March 28th and closes on July 13^th, 2018.

2. Who is eligible:

• This contest is open to anyone on an individual basis. Contestants can submit multiple entries.
• Members of the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) Board of Directors, Staff of the SIB, and their immediate relatives are not eligible to enter.
• Contest is open to Belize residents only.

3. Judging panel:

SIB Management, staff and external partners.

 

4. Prizes:

• The winning slogan will receive a cash prize of $500 (Five hundred) BZD
• The most “liked” slogan on the Statistical Institute of Belize’s Facebook page will receive a Kindle Fire 8” HD. In case the winning slogan is also the most “liked” slogan on Facebook, this prize will be given to the second most “liked” slogan.
• The oldest and youngest competitors will each receive SIB souvenirs.

5. Announcement and awarding of prizes:

• The awards will be announced and presented at a press conference held in Belize City in October, 2018.

All e-entries must state in the subject line SIB Census 2020 Slogan Competition.

 

8. Requirements for entries:

• Entries must be submitted in either digital or hard copy formats.
• Entries should be no longer than 5 words long.
• Each Entry should be accompanied by a separate document, indicating:
  • Full name(s) of the individual(s)
  • Date of Birth of the individual(s)
  • Address, email, and phone number of the individual(s)

 

9. Other Terms and Conditions

• The slogan must be an original idea and must not have received any previous awards.
• The slogan must be created by the contestant him/herself.
• The award–winning slogans become the property of the Statistical Institute of Belize from the date they are received. The Statistical Institute of Belize may use the slogan at its discretion, and reserves the right to determine which entries it displays.
• Any person submitting a slogan certifies that the slogan does not infringe the rights of any third party and is not in violation of any copyright.
• The winner will be informed directly by the Statistical Institute of Belize by telephone or email and invited to an announcement about the prize at a media briefing in October 2018.
• By participating in the competition, participants accept all competition rules and agree to be bound by them.
