The Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) advises its clients, stakeholders, and the general public that effective Thursday, April 2nd, 2020, its offices will not be open to the public. This is being done as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our staff and valued clients.
In keeping with social distancing requirements, data collection exercises that involve face-to-face interviews are temporarily suspended until it is deemed safe to resume such activities. Nonetheless, the work of the SIB will carry on, with staff working from home until further notice. Our key economic indicators will continue to be produced and published as per our calendar of releases and data requests from the public will continue to be received and processed online. Additionally, the Institute’s management and staff will continue to provide the necessary support to the government’s COVID-19 monitoring efforts.
