FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FACILITATORS GEAR UP FOR NATIONAL MICS 2024 DATA WORKSHOP
BELMOPAN CITY, BELIZE, July 21, 2025 – Today marks the start of a 2-day preparatory session hosted by the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) Planning Committee. This session, taking place on July 21–22, is designed to prepare facilitators and moderators for the upcoming Data Interpretation and Report Compilation (DIRC) Workshop scheduled for July 28-31.
Facilitators and moderators from various sectors, including health, education, social protection, and child development, are participating in this intensive training. They will guide national experts through the validation of the 2024 MICS7 findings, Belize’s most comprehensive household survey focused on the well-being of children and families.
The preparatory session ensures facilitators and moderators are well-equipped to lead discussions during the upcoming DIRC Workshop, where final data review and interpretation will shape the survey findings report.
The 2024 MICS7 provides vital data on about 111 indicators on the situation of women and children, including more than 40 SDG indicators, and is implemented with technical support from UNICEF and funding from KOICA and Government ministries.
Stay tuned as we continue advancing data-driven decision-making for a better Belize!
