Today, the Statistical Institute of Belize published its latest statistics on the consumer price index, external trade, and the 1st quarter 2020 gross domestic product.
Consumer Price Index
Figures released by the Institute show that the All-Items Consumer Price Index stood at 105.32 in April 2020. A decrease of 0.02 percent from 105.35 in April 2019. This was the result of lower prices for various food items, fuel, and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) offsetting higher home rental costs, education fees, and international airfares during the month. The year-to-date inflation rate for the first four months of 2020, when compared to the same period in 2019, stood at 0.2 percent.
