Today, the Statistical Institute of Belize published its latest statistics on the consumer price index, external trade, and the 4th quarter 2019 gross domestic product.
Consumer Price Index
Figures released by the Institute show that the All-Items Consumer Price Index stood at 105.0 in January 2020. An increase of 0.2 percent from 104.8 in January 2019. Lower prices for food items, home rentals and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were slightly overshadowed by steep increases in international airfares and tertiary education fees, resulting in the small overall increase in consumer prices seen during the first month of the year.
