Consumer Price Index
Figures released by the Institute show that the All-Items Consumer Price Index for April 2019 stood at 104.9, an increase of 0.2 percent from 104.7 in April 2018. On average, during this month in 2019, the prices of goods and services regularly purchased by Belizean households were 0.2 percent higher than they were in the same month of 2018.

Merchandise Trade
In April 2019, Belize imported goods valuing $147.4 million. This represented a 5.7 percent or $8.8 million decrease from the same month last year. Merchandise imports for the period January to April 2019 totalled just above $602.4 million, representing a 2.8 percent or $16.4 million increase from the same four-month period last year.
The total value of Belize’s domestic exports for the month of April 2019 was $48.7 million, up significantly by 81.9 percent or $21.9 million from the $26.8 million recorded for April 2018. Merchandise exports for the period January to April 2019 totalled $139.7 million, up 6.4 percent or almost $8.5 million from that same period last year.
