SIB Public Notice – Changes to Procedures for Submitting Data Requests
The Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) advises its clients and the general public that, in keeping with the Government of Belize and the Ministry of Health’s recommendations to practice increased social distancing to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19, it will be implementing changes to the way in which requests for data are received. Effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the SIB’s Data Dissemination Department will no longer be open for walk-ins. All data requests should be submitted to the Data Dissemination Department via one of the following channels:

In addition, various data series are readily available for download in Excel format on the Statistics section of the Institute’s official website, http://sib.org.bz/statistics/. Users may also access the SIB’s two Data Portals. National indicators are available for download at the Belize National Statistical System Indicators Portal at http://bnss.sib.org.bz:8080/apex/f?p=134:1:::::: and users can generate their own customized tables from data sets for the past three censuses on its Customized Data Portal at http://sib.org.bz/data-portals/customized-data/.
These changes are being implemented as a precautionary measure, for the protection and safety of the Institute’s staff and its valued clients, and will be in place until further notice. The SIB remains committed to providing quality statistical data in a timely manner and assures data users that it will continue to respond to all data requests promptly and efficiently.
