Economic Statistics
The Statistical Institute of Belize compiles the national statistics that describe how the Belizean economy performs. These five series track total economic output, consumer prices and inflation, imports and exports, household sentiment, and the size of the tourism industry. Each is produced on a fixed schedule using internationally recognized methods, and each is published free of charge.

Measures the total value of goods and services produced in Belize and is the standard summary of the size and growth of the economy.

Tracks the change in prices of a fixed basket of goods and services bought by households, and is the basis of Belize’s official inflation rate.

Records the goods Belize buys from and sells to the rest of the world, broken down by commodity group and trading partner.

Captures how households view current and expected economic conditions, based on a national survey of consumer sentiment.

Reading these statistics correctly
A short note on comparability, which matters whenever figures from different series or different years are placed side by side.
Each series on this page is built on its own concepts, reference period and reporting cycle, so values are not interchangeable and should not be combined into a single trend. Series are also periodically rebased or revised as improved source data becomes available, and comparisons that cross a rebasing or a methodological revision require the accompanying notes in the relevant release. Where an estimate comes from a sample survey rather than an administrative count, it carries a margin of error, and differences between two periods that fall within that margin should be read as broadly unchanged rather than as movement in a particular direction. The release documents linked from each series set out the base year, coverage and revision policy that apply.

What is the current inflation rate in Belize?
Belize’s official inflation rate is the twelve month change in the Consumer Price Index, published monthly by the Statistical Institute of Belize. The most recent value appears in the latest figures above, and the full release with commodity group detail is on the Consumer Price Index page.
How often is Belize’s GDP published?
Gross Domestic Product is published [quarterly, with an annual compilation]. Quarterly estimates are provisional and are revised as more complete source data becomes available, which is standard practice for national accounts.
Where can I find Belize import and export data?
