The 2022 Census will incorporate a number of innovations intended to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness. The final outcome of these innovations will be the completion of the census within eight weeks, a first for any census in Belize, and the publication of the first set of results by the end of 2022. These include:
- Use of tablets for data collection
- Real-time monitoring of key indicators for quality control
- Use of teams for data collection
- Production of multidimensional poverty indices using census data
- Use of mapping and GIS information in the field
- Integrated Human Resources/Payment computer applications
- Publication of several thematic reports focused on key topics covered in the census, instead of one lengthy Census Report
